Next Time You feel Unworthy: Read This.

This may be weird, IDK I've never said it out loud...

but sometimes when I find myself really really happy... i get a wave of guilt and little panic.

It's like a little trigger goes off when I'm on cloud nine that tells me "hey hey, not so fast. You have things you should be worrying about! You'll also probably be blindsided by one of life's curveballs soon, so don't get too happy. Oh and you have shit to do!!!"

OK OK OK, fine!

It's not a complete inner dialogue like that dw I'm not crazy, but deep down those are the underlining worries that sometimes creep up on me when I'm feeling really great. I know a big part of this is anxiety, and some of you might not experience it exactly that way I do.

However if you're human, you're probably guilty at times of shrinking to lower standards because deep down you don't feel good enough or worthy enough for something greater. Whether that's in your relationships, career, personal goals, etc...

"Why do I deserve greatness? Why ME!?"

Well, why the hell not?

This morning when I woke up, I reached over to my nightstand and pulled out my favorite inspirational book, "A Return to Love". My books are REALLY beat up by the way, bless them.

I highlight, underline, fold over pages... really mark the shit out of them. Reason being, whenever I'm feeling negative or overwhelmed, I can open my book and easily revisit the parts that bring me the perspective I need.

This morning when I opened up my book, I was immediately drawn to a previously highlighted passage and it's my absolute favorite:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

After reading this passage, I came across this sign on the floor and just smiled so big. I literally just walked into what I read.

That sign was my little reminder, and here's yours:

It’s OKAY to be insanely happy, to be bold and dream so big it scares you. To never settle for less then the absolute BEST for yourself in every aspect of your life. Why? Because you are worthy and deserving of everything you’ve always wanted. Don’t ever let people or your circumstances make you feel otherwise.
